In exactly one week, the 38th World Championship Three-Cushion National Teams will get underway at the Festhalle Viersen. From 26 February to 1 March 2026, the eyes of three-cushion fans around the world will once again be on this traditional venue, which will host the world’s elite for the 35th consecutive time in the fight for the coveted world title.

The official start to the final phase of preparations was marked this morning by the press conference hosted jointly by the German Billiard Union (DBU) and the City of Viersen, providing media representatives with comprehensive insights into the current status of the organisation as well as the sporting and logistical planning for the days ahead.

During an open round of discussions, Peter Bröckskes (Main Sponsor, SAB Bröckskes), Enrico Wahle (President, German Billiard Union), Helmut Biermann (Chairman of the Board, DBU), Christoph Hopp (Mayor of the City of Viersen), Christian Rudolph (Head Coach, Team Germany), Amir Ibraimov (German National Team Player), Hans-Willy Bouren (long-standing member of the Viersen City Council) and Frank Schiffers (World Championship Moderator) answered questions from the media and provided an update on the final preparations.

From the coming weekend onwards, the Festhalle Viersen will gradually be transformed into a first-class championship arena. Tables, technical equipment and lighting will be installed to ensure optimal conditions for athletes and spectators alike.

Head coach Christian Rudolph is eagerly looking ahead to the tournament:

“The team is fully focused, very well prepared and highly motivated for this challenge. A team world championship in Viersen always has a very special character – the atmosphere, the closeness to the fans and the sporting quality make this event truly unique.”
