SCHENDERLEIN
Ladies and gentlemen,
dear billiards fans,
Allow me to warmly welcome you to the 38th World Championship for National Teams in Three-cushion Billiards, making this one of the longest-standing annual sporting events in Germany.
Viersen and the Three-cushion World Championship have for many years had a very special relationship. Since 1990, players, officials and enthusiastic fans from all around the world have gathered here for this event.
The Festhalle in Viersen is an outstanding venue for this prestigious tournament that has long become a well-established gathering of the international billiards elite.
When the best national teams face off against each other from 26 February to 1 March 2026, we can once again witness billiards players competing at the very top of their game. The combination of utmost concentration, absolute precision, creative solutions and mental fortitude is what makes this sport so fascinating. Moreover, players’ peak performances are always paired with fair play and mutual respect – that, too, makes this event so exemplary.
Yet a tournament like this is made possible not only by sporting performances, but also by people who are behind the scenes. I therefore want to most sincerely thank all those who make this World Championship possible. This includes the devoted efforts of volunteers who put so much work and passion into making it happen.
To all competitors, I wish successful, fair and thrilling matches – and for all those in the audience, I hope you get to watch some captivating billiards and can be part of an exciting tournament with memorable moments.
Most sincerely yours,
Christiane Schenderlein
